Two Months and Counting!

Week after week during my pregnancy, I posted, and you prayed.

Now, Bart is already two months old!!!

There is a near constant pressure to write on here, not because someone is forcing me to, but because I want to.  But alas, the life of a mama-to-baby...my days start with many plans and end with me just. too. tired. to get these words that are sitting on the edge of my heart out onto the screen.

Please forgive me.  Your prayers and your care deserve more.  I know you want the blanks filled in, and believe me, I want to do that.  For some reason, it's been hard to write, mostly for the aforementioned reason but probably also because when I tell about the boys' birth, it feels like there is more closure and like I'm saying goodbye all over again.

But I want to go there.  I want to tell.

Just not sure when.  Please be patient, and I will get the words out in time.

God is faithful.  A sure rock we can cling to.  I know that full well.

Bart is doing amazingly well!  His heart is strong (praise God!), he is growing (a whopping 7 pounds, 15.5 ounces at his 2-month checkup!), and yesterday, he started smiling at us!  He is precious beyond measure, and I am astounded at the gift of him.

Thank you for your unending prayers and enduring love for our family...they carried us through.  God once again used His people to glorify Himself in our lives...

Here's how Tom spent his yesterday evening: eating a popsicle in the ER after crashing his chin on the playground at school. Result: 3 stitches and a Lightening McQueen band-aid for cool coverup!

8 Weeks!

Eight weeks of adorable! This little guy has stolen our hearts...

Go, Brewers!

My first Brewers' game!  I wasn't crazy about the sun or the noise or the fact that the Brewers lost, but overall, it was great!

What a great day really looks like...

Earlier this morning when I checked Facebook, I saw that a "friend" (who just got back from India after meeting her son) had posted a photo of Soudemani, Tom's nanny from his two years at the orphanage.  She is a beautiful woman, and we are so grateful for her intense and loving care of our little one.  Tom was just over 2 years old when he met him, and she was his primary caregiver for most of that time.

Showing Tom her picture prompted a look at other India pictures and videos...always a treasure to walk down that very important memory lane.

And then, the words from Beth, "Tom, do you remember the time when we first met at the airport?  That was a great day!"

Yes, it was, girly.  Yes, it was.

His faces crack me up!

Bart and I had a lovely time "talking" this morning...I can't get enough of his funny little faces!

6 weeks!

A beautiful sleeping Bart this morning...6 weeks old today! What an incredible blessing!

First Day Littles

Here are the littles on their first day of school. They are in the same class...we'll see how it goes. First day was a huge success! They love each other so much...precious memories for this mama!

And just like that, in the blink of an eye,

Summer is over.

Bart is here, and life as a family of 7 is well underway.

Summer in the City 2013 is in the history books.

We have a new boarder living in our front room.

And school is starting...

Tomorrow.

6th grade, 2nd grade, and two kids in K4.
And a baby.

That's our life, starting...
