By the Numbers

The Bigs had their annual doctor visit yesterday, and the results are in!

Weight
Rex:  53.6 lbs.
Neil:  63.4 lbs.
Beth:  29.6 lbs.
Tom:  35.4 lbs.
Mama:  That's a secret!

Yes, let's note the very obvious...our adopted kids are tall heavyweights, while our bio kids are short lightweights. Neil pointed this out yesterday...of course we've known this for awhile, but it was funny to have him point it out.

Neil also gained a quarter inch on Rex. He finally passed his big brother up. Sure did.

The other obvious is that Beth still doesn't weigh 30 pounds. She's 4 1/2 years old.

Good news is that Rex is still actively growing on his growth curve, so all is well. And he'll probably hit a growth spurt here in...a few years.

I love that God has made them differently, just the size and shape He wants them!

Rex and Neil...by the Numbers

Rex at 9 years...

Height:  4'1"
Weight:  51 lbs.

I think the nurse said that he was around the 5th or 10th %ile for both.

Neil at 6 years...

Height:  4' even
Weight:  56.4 lbs.

90th %ile for both.

Rex has long since been passed up in the weight category, but he maintains his edge in the height category...by an inch.  And Neil still has two more years before he is allowed to sit in the front seat, so Rex has him there...and he likes it.

Tom by the Numbers

Since this blog will likely serve as scrapbook and record for my kids and their childhood.....

At 26 months, Tom looked like this:

Weight:  27 pounds, 14 ounces  (50th%)
Height:  35 1/2 inches  (75th%)
Head Circumference:  49 (Is that cm?)  (90th%)

Not bad for a little guy who spent his first 2 years in an orphanage!

Keep in mind that big sister, Beth, is still not on the growth chart for weight, which goes to show why Tom is about 4 pounds heavier than she is.  How long do we think it'll be before he overtakes her in height, too?  Not long, I'll bet!
